Account Sign-In & Security PIN
Secure your personal chats and workspace with two-tier protection: email verification code and hardware-encrypted local PIN.
1. Welcome & Email Sign-In
When Trinity opens for the first time, you will see the Welcome screen:

Type your personal or work email address and click Send Verification Code.
Receive One-Time Passcode
A 6-digit verification code will be delivered to your inbox within seconds.
2. Email One-Time Passcode (OTP)
Complete account confirmation:
- Enter the 6-digit code received in your email.
- Trinity confirms your code automatically.
- You are immediately directed to create your master Security PIN.
3. Master Security PIN (DPAPI Hardware Encryption)
Your Security PIN ensures that only you can access your conversations and files on your computer:
Choose a 4 to 8 Digit PIN
Enter your chosen numeric PIN and re-enter it to confirm.
Hardware-Backed Encryption
Your PIN is secured using Windows Data Protection (DPAPI), bound exclusively to your Windows login credentials. Even if files are copied off your machine, they cannot be read elsewhere.
Daily Sign-In & Inactivity Auto-Lock
After 3 minutes of inactivity or upon manually locking the app, Trinity prompts for your PIN, protecting your privacy in shared spaces.

1. Using an Existing Database Server
If your computer or organization already runs an existing local SQL Server instance:
- During installation, you can uncheck the bundled database engine download.
- Trinity automatically detects standard local instances (SQLEXPRESS or default MSSQLSERVER) on startup.
- Ensure that Windows Authentication is enabled for your active Windows login account.
2. Enterprise Network & Firewall Guidelines
In corporate network environments with strict security policies:
Local Loopback Communication
Trinity's internal components communicate via secure localhost loopback (127.0.0.1). No inbound external network ports are opened to the internet.
Outbound Ports
Ensure outbound HTTPS (Port 443) is permitted for cloud model streaming, email verification, and web search cards.
3. Offline Installation Support
For air-gapped or restricted workstations:
Pre-install the 64-bit Visual C++ Redistributable and ODBC Driver on the machine prior to launching the Trinity installer. Trinity will detect them immediately and install without requiring an active internet connection.

1. Database Connection Notice
Issue: Trinity displays a warning icon indicating that the local database is not reachable.
Use Built-In Auto-Repair
Click the database warning icon in the top header and click "Install / Repair Local Database". Trinity will verify and restart the service automatically.
Check Windows Services
Ensure the SQL Server service is running in Windows Services (services.msc). If stopped, right-click and choose Start.
2. Port Conflicts & Restarting Trinity
Issue: Trinity reports that an internal communication port is busy.
Trinity includes dynamic port shifting that automatically selects free ports upon launch. If another software application is blocking ports:
- Close Trinity completely from the system tray or Task Manager.
- Reopen Trinity from your Desktop shortcut to allow it to select clean ports.
3. Resetting Your PIN & Data

Resetting Your PIN
On the PIN entry screen, click "Forgot PIN?" to trigger an email verification passcode to your registered address. Once verified, you will be prompted to set a new PIN immediately.
Data Protection Guarantee
Resetting your PIN does not erase your local database records. Your conversations and indexed documents remain secure.
